It had been a while since I entered Pastis. For no other reason than I was never excited. WELL, shame on me because it was UNREAL. I cannot stop dreaming of their French Onion Soup. And the Shrimp Salad. And, our beloved Matt - a massive fan of the Beef Bourguignon. It's comfort food extraordinaire! But -the artichoke….
In reflection mode paired with an OBGYN appt where I gained 3 lbs….fast forward 24h, let it be known that the one thing Matt and I agree upon in the culinary space is Pastis. And Danielle from Old Miami loves it, too.
Their Happy Hour is also for the win. You are welcome!
Is it still worth the hype? Yes. The spot is Paris cum Miami. It’s bistrot chic!
The Space: Tile indoor loaded with red leather and booths, a bar and an outdoor patio paired with a bar that’s beyond noteworthy.
What to Eat & Drink: I loved the bread. It’s best served toasted (request it) and it’s from Caracas Bakery. The Tuna appetizer was for the win. And the Scallop app was orgasmic. The French Onion Soup was the best in Miami. And the fried artichoke app with a side of aioli x lemon was YAS. Ask for it sans salt. The poached shrimp were delectable. And, Matt loved his Beef Bourguignon. We all loved the Creme Brulee! Lastly, the dirty martini was outstanding. I may have had three.
Perfect For: Happy hour? Or lunch. Or dinner? Let me tell you, it’s the ideal spot for ANYTHING! They - however, don’t have a private dining room!
Pro Tip: Their happy hour is for the win. It’s Monday through Friday, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Expect to Pay: For three people, with 5 apps, a soup, and two entrees - and 3 Martinis and 2 glasses of wine paired with three bottles of Aqua Panna, a creme brulee and a tip, it’s 120 pp. Basically free for the experience!
How’s the parking? Wynwood is easy. Street parking is rampant and they have valet!
