No, Seriously, This New Ocean Drive Dinner Show Is Actually Super Fun
J'adore! We Ocean Drive'd during Art Week
J’adore
Ya tu sabes, we Ocean Drive’d during Art Week
Hi - your friendly Co-Ed. Erin Michelle Newberg, here. You know, the one with the distinguished, infectious laugh? You know, the one who for the past two decades-or-so has been running across the globe shouting ‘J’Adore’ from the Aspen Mountains to Thailand. Yep. That’s me.
So, naturally, when our beloved Matthew Meltzer gave me a ring with the breaking news that Ocean Drive just became home to a restaurant and performative destination called J’adore Miami Beach - my jaw dropped, and together in the middle of the over-rated art week, we went on over to explore.
The Setting: John the ravishing gent walked us to our seats which were strategically located facing the bar. The bar is what is essentially used as a stage, so looking back I realized that J’Adore is like a modern Birdcage without the Drag Queens and with no Agador in sight. However, for a night out on the town with friends for dinner and a show - I say ‘why not?’ It’s entertainment at its finest. The dancing show was actually really sexy, fun and playful with a proper Latin flair.
What to eat/drinks: The winning dish was the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare. It was outstanding. The perfect bite thanks to the preparation using watermelon, in a green gazpacho with black cream and radish - well, there was some crunch on top that had me screaming ‘J’adore.’ We also tried a few sides like the Shishito Peppers and the Tostones which were Miami perfection. And we think Matt loved his steak. It was gone, so that’s a great sign.
Don’t Miss: The Yellowfin Tuna Tartare.
Perfect For: A random date and it would be really ideal if on an edible, if that’s your thing!
Expect to Pay: Around $100 per person with drinks.
How’s the parking? It’s Ocean Drive. Park in a South Beach garage and do some people watching on the walk over.
