Le Specialità is all that, and more...
Subsequently Spicy like name of the hospitality group
A few things that I’m addicted to are great food, ambience, amazing music, impeccable service, art that evokes my senses and….travel.
You probably don’t know this about me, but I have been passport infused since I was just two. And along this journey that I am lucky to my rather curated call life, I once lived in Milan where I studied fashion design for a semester. TBH, I failed - rightfully so. But I passed the course on partying at the Cavalli, shopping, sipping and supping.
Now that you have heard my shpiel, which is basically a short bio, I share the opening with y’all of a majestic Milanese gem in the heart of the Design District as I was one of the lucky, ‘chosen’ ones who went a few weeks back before the official opening with my glamorous lawyer Alexis Read and her friend Allison Charles.
The evening at Le Specialità commenced in a booth in their perfectly dimmed dining room. Sitting under their blue-chip works (thanks to their co-owner, the controversial Andre Sakhai), naturally, the first order was a drink, hence sipping on their lightly dirty martini that came paired with none-other than an iced sidecar which just may be the best accessory these days.
Our personable server insisted on a few dishes that he swore by. However, let me pair it down for you on what not-to-miss when you reserve via Dorsia. Their pizza was absolutely outstanding. So good, that we ordered two. The classic Margherita was just perfect. It’s proof that something so simple can be so right. Thin enough to not get full from, yet soft enough to not pull out an Apa Aesthetic veneer….it was heaven. As was the spicy pizza with freshly-sliced jalapeños. Lastly, the on-the-bone chicken parmesan deserves an OMFG award. And it was one of the best I ever had in Miami, and beyond. Sliced table side, its not-greasy, yet rather juicy. On a bed of chunky San Marzano-style tomatoes, these three items are all you need to know about. And, on that note: you are welcome!
Perfect for: A vibe, shoulder-shaking music, a romantic date, a girls night, a solo experience or a private dinner party in their elevated space you can rent out for you and your friends.
Expect to pay: It depends if you like your martinis, wines or cocktails - but figure $75 - $200 pp if you are decadent.
Pro tip: Get the chicken parmesan if it’s available. When I went, it was a special.
How’s the parking? Supple! There is a garage just above, but if you get a sidecar like yours truly, UBER!
