Ghee, in its simplest, Yelp-ese is an Indian restaurant. But calling it that would be like calling E11even a late-night cocktail lounge. It’s the creation of Chef Niven Patel, who bases much of the menu on what he’s growing at his Homestead farm. And while you’ll see the Indian-American classics like Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer on the menu, Ghee truly excels in the stuff you probably haven’t seen.

Why is Ghee different than every other Indian restaurant I’ve been to?

Because it has things on the menu you’ve either never seen before, or never seen like this. Dishes like kerala lamb with coconut milk, and yellowfin tuna bhel are twists Patel puts on lesser-seen Indian dishes using his own ingredients. They’re the spicy, flavorful standouts that might seem unfamiliar at first, but beg for you to branch out. Take it from a picky eater: You’ll be glad you did.
