Ever since Buccan opened its doors in 2011 in Palm Beach, I must say that I have been a loyal customer. I had known of Chef Clay Conley from his tenure at Azul at the Mandarin Oriental when I was working at rbbCommunications in 2005. I probably got axed from that job courtesy of late nights at that hotel and supping and sipping in that excellent restaurant. But fast forward to when Clay departed and moved to Palm Beach to open up Buccan - well, I followed. As did many locals in Miami. And before our very eyes, he became the real star right off of Worth Avenue where on any given night - somebody whose anybody was dining within their perfectly dimmed light establishment.
What was once legit worth the drive for an hour ++ to arrive for the warm, yet vibrant vibe and the hot dog appetizer which captured my heart is no longer a necessity. And that’s because just two weeks ago, Buccan opened up their doors on the oh-so-newly-trending Miracle Mile.
