Barra Callao

Barra Callao is the buzziest Peruvian spot in the city right now, and believe it or not, it’s in a small North Miami Beach strip mall. The chef builds every Nikkei-style dish in front of you, from the ceviche of the day’s catch with ají limo to hotate sashimi in yuzu leche de tigre with pickled goldenberries and truffle scallops au gratin under a parmesan crust.

Pro Tip: Walk-ins only during weekday lunch. After 5 p.m. it’s reservations only, and Sundays it’s closed. With all the tire-man spotlight as of late, plan accordingly. @barracallao // 17034 W Dixie Hwy, North Miami Beach
