Bella’s Antipasti, Spinach & Chocolate Mousse are the Best Things I Ate in 2026
Think Euro summers with an oral eruption. Yep.
Thirteen years ago, I was in Tel Aviv and went to this really cute restaurant called HaSalon. It was down an alley at night, and strangely I thought we were in the wrong spot. But once we entered, it was the absolutely most insane, fun and memorably delicious restaurant. Ever. Founded by Eyal Shani whose career has since exploded, enter Bella Miami Beach - the latest and greatest addition to Shani’s robust portfolio. It’s also his first Italian restaurant and let it be known that not only is it a vibe for the unpretentious epicurean set, it left me craving the antipasti and the chocolate mousse. Call me strange, but I’ll be back for just that.
Located in the courtyard at the Liberty Park Hotel (where the Bass Museum is), from the moment we entered, the space had us at hello. And once the menu was provided (with the date in the upper right header) I fell deeper in love. It’s a wordsmith’s dream - written as if someone with humor was tasked for the project. Each plate also has a relatable quote and it’s divine. You’re also given a pen to circle or check off your order on the paper menu which makes it a bit more fun.
What to eat and drink: I feel repetitive, but the server insister we experience the antipasti, referred to as ‘Bella’s Little Treats.’ To preface this, this restaurateur feels less is more, so each item on the plate was marinated in simplicity. From roasted garlic (OMFG), to roasted peppers, carrots, eggplant, artichoke, charif, olives and labneh, it’s served with a focaccia that was the most worthy item to veer away from my newfound gluten-free diet. Thin, it paired perfectly with each of the items on the long, oval plate. We also opted for the melted spinach. It was no joke. Topped off with 24-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano, don’t miss it. There were a few other dishes that we attempted to enjoy - and although they weren’t newsworthy, please, please save room for the Chocolate mousse with creme, EVOO and salt. There wasn’t a shmear left on the plate. My girlfriend Brooke and I inhaled it.
The space: Transports you to Europe. It’s ideal for an under-the-radar date or a no-brainer dinner with friends. It’s casual, not intimidating and chic.
Don’t Miss: They have a beautiful cocktail and wine list. Check it out.
Expect to spend: If you follow my lead with the antipasti, the spinach and the dessert, you’re out $50 but really, you’re a winner.
How’s the parking: It’s pretty easy. There’s street parking and the big lot between the Setai and the W is a few steps away.
