Fooq’s is Fooqin’ back.

After five long years without one of the city’s most beloved restaurants, David Foulquier is finally reopening the doors to Fooq’s - and he’s ready to write a massive (we’re talking 14,000-square-feet massive) new chapter in Little River.

“Fooq’s was always meant to feel like a home,” says Foulquier, who has spent the last few years building his We All Gotta Eat Hospitality Group, with spots like Eleventh Street Pizza here in Miami, and Sushi Noz. The new iteration revives the nostalgia of the original location (look out for the bookshelf filled with his childhood mementos) but adds the “Lion’s Den,” a second-floor vinyl lounge that makes for the perfect post-dinner hang.

We caught up with him ahead of the highly anticipated January 23rd opening to talk about his love for leftovers, frozen supermarket patties in France, and why restaurant owners should always read their lease.
